Purpose
A few months ago, I heard about an opportunity to go serve as a teacher/teacher’s assistant at a mission near Balfate, Honduras. There is a school and a hospital at the mission. The school is called El Camino and the students are both the missionary kids as well as Honduran children. I was pretty interested in this opportunity from the start, and the more I learned about it, the more I felt drawn to do it. I’ve never done anything like this before, the longest I’ve ever been away from home is two weeks. I truly think God is calling me to go there, however, and I’m so excited about it. I applied for the position, and I got accepted to go. If everything goes smoothly, I will be leaving the first week of September. I will be there for nine months, the entire school year. Some of my tasks will be keeping the kids on task, helping them with their homework when needed and teaching a little English to the younger Honduran kids. As I get more comfortable there, I might also teach a lesson or two a week. (The teachers take turns on different days.)
Right now, I am in the raising support phase. If you’d like contribute or be a part of my prayer chain please contact me or my youth pastor.
