Freedom
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then, and do not let yourself be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1
I have always loved this verse. It frees us from the legalism of religion, from the Law of the Prophets. But it also warns us against committing the same sins over and over. It doesn’t give us an excuse to just sin because we know we’ll be forgiven. The essence of freedom is maintaining a new way of thinking and living. When we accept that freedom from Christ we let go of our old life and embrace the new one he offers us.
